Democracy is a thing we make together. To thrive, democracy requires being together in space, in time, and in our bodies. In a time where attention is a commodity, what does it mean to attend to and rebuild capacities that have been co-opted and weaponized by social media, AI, and quick-cut TikTok dopamine hits? How do we co-create a democracy that is more than an abstraction?

In this workshop, attendees will move through a collective, embodied activation led by movement artist Shannon Litzenberger, a Surrealist writing game led by scholar and arts advocate Andrew Zitcer, and musical journey led by artist Roula Said. Through the session, we will be chewing on generative questions about democracy that creative practice helps us see and experience in new ways.
