Sarah Tranum

Associate Professor of Social Innovation Design, OCAD University

Sarah Tranum is an Associate Professor of Social Innovation Design at OCAD University and the Founder and Design Strategist at TrickleUp Design. She works at the intersection of design, sustainability, and social impact, collaborating with international partners to identify organizational needs and create systems-based solutions to complex challenges.


An award-winning designer and experienced community economic development practitioner, Sarah is recognized for her innovative approach to social design education and her ability to translate theory into practice. She has developed and taught a highly regarded social innovation curriculum that empowers students to design for positive change.


Sarah holds a Master of Design from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, a Certificate in Interdisciplinary Design Strategy from the Institute without Boundaries, and a Bachelor’s degree in Policy Analysis and Management from Cornell University.
