Gideon Arthurs

Gideon Arthurs is Executive Director of Soulpepper Theatre in Toronto, where he is co-leading a transformation of the organization into a civic cultural institution focused on connection, participation, and social impact. Previously CEO of the National Theatre School of Canada, he has spent over two decades working across the country to strengthen the role of the arts in public life. His work centres on the idea that theatre can function as civic infrastructure—building empathy, fostering dialogue, and helping communities navigate complexity together.
