Gulay Alpay
Interdisciplinary Artist
Gulay Alpay is a Toronto-based interdisciplinary artist. She holds BFA and MFA degrees in Painting and a certificate in Visual and Digital Arts. Currently studying Indigenous Art and Culture at OCAD University, her practice spans painting, textile, performance, installation, and public art, inviting viewers to engage with layered, playful compositions.

Collective Body: A living structure of shared labour

Collective Body is an interdisciplinary participatory installation combining textile, performance, and public interaction. Up to ten participants inhabit a shared structure, forming a temporary collective organism. The work reflects on democracy, shared labour, and economic interdependence, exploring how communities are shaped through collective responsibility, cooperation, and participation.
