Jared A. Walker
Executive Director, Canadians for Tax Fairness
Jared A. Walker is the Executive Director of Canadians for Tax Fairness, a non-profit, non-partisan research and advocacy group fighting for fair, progressive taxation.
As a leader, bridge-builder, and storyteller he has worked for over fifteen years with progressive leaders, organizations, and movements at all levels of government across Canada and the US to show people they are seen, connected, and have the power to change an increasingly uncertain, isolating world. He knows in his bones that we find our power and purpose together, and is passionate about building and mobilizing a progressive, diverse, and winning pro-democracy coalition for the long haul.

A frequent writer and speaker across media platforms on a wide range of social, political, and economic issues, Jared is the Vice Chair of the Broadbent Institute's Board of Directors, and the Founding Chair of the Black Youth Fellowship at Toronto City Hall. He got his start as the New York State Coordinator of Students for Barack Obama, and wakes up every day knowing that if you’re both lucky and prepared, you can catch lightning in a bottle.

Jared lives in Toronto with his partner, and when he isn’t working you can find him in his kitchen cooking up a storm with a glass of wine in his hand, a song on his lips, and rhythm in his feet.
