Juliette Schmidt
Program Manager, Global Pluralism Award
Juliette Schmidt currently heads the Global Pluralism Award and Leaders Network at the Global Centre for Pluralism. The Centre works with policymakers, governments, community leaders and practitioners around the world to amplify and implement the transformative power of pluralism, inspiring and enabling prosperous, healthy and peaceful societies where differences are valued and protected.
Throughout her career, Schmidt has used evidence-based approaches to solve problems related to democracy and peace across more than 25 countries in 5 continents, working with organizations like the International Foundation for Electoral Systems (IFES), Freedom House, The Carter Center, and Search for Common Ground. Specifically, she has focused on strengthening political and electoral processes, transforming entrenched conflict and polarization, and coordinating and convening networks and consortia to tackle complex issues. Schmidt has held board/advisory positions at several organizations and is an Associate at the Parliamentary Centre of Canada.
